Washington, DC's Only Black-tie Gala for the Four-on-the-Floor Crowd
Washington, DC – The Washington Humane Society’s
20th annual Bark Ball will be held on Saturday, June 9, 2007 at
the Renaissance Hotel (999 9th St, NW). Mary Matalin and James Carville
will serve as this year’s event chairs. This evening is the
only black-tie gala for Washington, DC’s movers and shakers
to bring their canine companions as their dates. The Bark Ball draws
many of the area's most illustrious residents and their four-legged
friends.
The VIP reception will begin at 6:30 p.m., followed by an extensive
silent auction at 7:00 p.m., dinner and program at 8:00 p.m. and
dancing at 9:00 p.m. In addition, this year’s event will feature
a vendor village offering top luxury gift items for pets and people.
Individual tickets are $250 each, and a table of 10 is $2250. The
Washington Humane Society would like to give a special thank you

The Washington Humane Society provides comfort and care to over
20,000 animals each year through its broad range of programs and
services including: sheltering, adoption, spay and neuter, humane
law enforcement, lost and found, CatNiPP and humane education. Chartered
by Congress in 1870, the Washington Humane Society enforces DC anti-cruelty
statutes and protects all of the District’s animal residents.
All proceeds from Bark Ball benefit the Society’s Good Home
Guarantee, a five-year plan that promises to find a home for every
adoptable dog and cat that enters the shelter by 2010.
