Sponsor
a Shelter Animal
Caring
individuals can have a positive impact on the life of a Washington,
DC homeless animal by sponsoring a dog or cat in one of our two
shelters as they await permanent homes. For just $150 (the average
cost of each animal’s stay to WHS ), you can have the satisfaction
of knowing that your generosity sponsored the bedding, treats, special
foods, toys, gentle leader leashes, dog “Adopt Me” vests,
etc. that make an animal’s stay at the shelter as comfortable
as possible. Your name will be prominently displayed on an animal’s
cage for all visitors to see, and you may visit and meet the beneficiary
of your generosity (WHS will work with you to choose the right animal).
To sponsor a dog or a cat, please send your one-time gift of $150
(or spread your payments over 12 months at $12 per month) and specify
if you prefer to sponsor a dog or a cat. You can also make your
gift online by donating
with credit card. For more information, contact Peter
Larson 202-723-5730, (ext. 206) or via e-mail at plarson@washhumane.org.
Help Support the Washington Humane Society by Making an Automatic Monthly Contribution.
You can make a difference all year long by joining the Washington Humane Society’s monthly sustainer program. Your monthly gift will sustain our work in a convenient, reliable and cost-efficient way throughout the year.
Setting up your monthly credit card gift is simple and provides the Washington Humane Society with a consistent income stream throughout the year. Your monthly gift will help us continue to provide the animals in our care with the essentials such as food, toys and beds. Joining our Monthly Sustainer Program allows you to give a little each month while still making a significant impact on our work. For example, a gift of $15 a month would add up to an annual contribution of $180!
Our monthly sustainers do not receive our direct mail appeals and the money that we save on printing and postage goes directly to serve the animals.
Please sign-up for a monthly gift by calling 202-723-5730 (ext. 200) or by downloading our Monthly Sustainer registration form and either mailing it to:
Washington Humane Society
Attn: Development Department
7319 Georgia Ave, NW
Washington DC 20012
Or faxing it to: (202) 723-5409
You can start the process online by making your first donation at donationCC.asp, and choosing the designation “I want to donate this amount every month” from the pull down menu. Please provide a phone number so that we can call you to obtain all the necessary information to fully register you as a monthly sustainer.
Your contribution will be charged to your credit card on or around the 20th of each month. We will send you an acknowledgment for tax purposes at the end of the calendar year.
Your monthly donation to the Washington Humane Society is the most cost-effective way to make sure that the animals in our community have the shelter, protection and the voice that they deserve.
