Click on the location and animal type in the box to the right to view the animals available for adoption at the Washington Humane Society's two shelters. Check back frequently, as we are the only open-access shelter in DC, so our list of animals available for adoption is updated daily

Join us for our first ever Meow Mixer; a cat speed dating event, on Thursday, May 22nd from 7:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m., where you just might find your “purrfect” match! Enjoy hors d'oeuvres and drinks compliments of Whole Foods (P Street) while choosing your new best friend. The event will take place at the NEW WHS Behavior & Learning Center. Adoption applications must be submitted in advance to Adoption Coordinator, Diana Foley. Space is limited.
