Peppers (9234388)

Hey you, my name is Peppers! I'm about a 1 and a half year old jet-black boy and I was surrendered by my owner because I accidentally scratched a couple people one day and they just didn't want to take care of me anymore. :(

I'm actually a really nice, big and handsome tom cat, and I just love everyone! I'm always in the mood to explore, and when I'm not doing that I'm happily relaxing in your lap as you pet me. I would be happy in any home as long as I get plenty of love (and scratching posts!).

Find me in the Annex, "Kitty City" Cat Room at 1201 New York Ave. NE

Midnight (9538956)

Hi, I知 Midnight! I知 a 4 year old medium hair girl and I'm in the shelter because my elderly owner moved into a senior care facility where she couldn't bring me along. :(

I'm a very friendly, social guy and I get along well with other cats! I'm almost always in the mood to snuggle, I enjoy being petted, and I'm very tolerant of everything (even when I'm not in the mood). Because I'm a little older, I'd really be a fantastic first cat or in the home of someone with a more laidback lifestyle. Come down and meet me today!

Hi, I'm Hardy! I'm a 1 year old boy and I was stuck all alone in the cold during the blizzards last week, where I was rescued by fabulous Washington Humane Society Animal Control Officers! I'm a very friendly, loving guy who really just wants love. I thoroughly enjoy snuggletime, get along well with other cats and all people, and I LOOOOOOOOVE face rubs and petting in general. I do like to play, of course, but I can entertain myself if left alone for a while. Come down and meet me today! Hi, I'm Kia! I'm a super sweet 1 year old mediumhair girl and I'm in the shelter because my owner just put me out into the hallway of her apartment complex when she didn't want me anymore. :(

I'm a very gentle, kind girl who takes a moment to warm up to new folks and new situations, but once I do I'm your best friend for life! I do enjoy playtime, but I'm happiest when relaxing in the lap of the one I love and just purring away. Can I come home with you today?!

Hi there, my name is Stimpy! I'm a 2 year old male short hair/medium hair Tiger and I知 in the shelter because... Actually I知 not sure, I just remember it was cold, there was a lot of snow outside, and I was in the hallway of my owner's apartment building with no owner in sight! :(

I知 a real cool kitty. I love to relax, be petted, and lounge around. There is a time and place for mice (or stuffed mice) chasing and just being goofy, but my most satisfied moments are when I'm being petted and dozing off, preferably in your lap! I get along well with other kitties an I am pretty tolerant and acceptive of everyone in general. Can I come home with you today, pretty please?

Mocha (9608706)

Hi there, my name is Mocha! I am a 2 year old shorthair female and I (like many it seems!) was surrendered by my owner because she was moving to a home that doesn't allow cats. (sigh... )

I'm a very talkative, friendly girl with a moderate energy level who is always in the mood to snuggle! I'm really the best of both worlds - I love to play and just be goofy, AND I really enjoy just relaxing next to you as you shower me in face and neck rubs. I seem to get along well with other cats and I can entertain myself if left alone for a while. Who could ask for anything more in a new best friend?!

Brice (9519143)

Hi, I'm Brice! I'm a 2 year old male shorthair Tiger and I was found relaxing on a woman's porch all day, hoping she'd take me in and make me her own!

I'm really a sweet guy who loves to talk and has a lot of love to give! I enjoy people and happily (and loudly) purr when you give me some love! I can be a biter, so I'd do best in an experienced cat home where someone is willing to work with me on this. I really do love to snuggle and listen to you tell me you love me. I do still like to play, but am most satisfied relaxing next to you at the end of a long day. Paradise!

Hi, I'm Javier! I'm a 1 year old Tiger who really really wants to nuzzle my head in your lap and purr away. :) I was found stuck out on a balcony in the cold, crying to get in, and I had a lot of flea bites on me. I feel much better now though and I'm ready to find my new forever owner! I really am a nice guy. I'm tolerant, love hugs and am really happy to have you pet me and just talk nice to me. I get along well with all people, off that bat, and I've got a huge heart that I'm ready to give to you if you just take me in and treat me well. :)

Hi there, we're Mommy (stretching out!) and Papa (sitting up!), an 8 month old brother/sister pair! We're in the shelter because our owner was moving to a home that doesn't allow cats. :( Though we'd prefer to be adopted as a pair, we'd do fine individually as well.

We're both super friendly, easygoing kitties, with Papa being slightly more outgoing. We really enjoy people and playtime but are also equally content relaxing with each other (or you!!) on the couch. The shelter staff calls us a "dynamic duo," so please come by and meet us today! :)

Smokey Robinson (9545394)

Hi, there, my name is Smokey Robinson and I'm going to sing my way into your heart! Ok, purr my way into your heart! I'm a 2 year old longhair kitty and I was found wandering around Bay Street in SE DC, looking for my motown friends or my new forever family. :)

I'm a very friendly, calm, social guy. I get along well with other cats, like relaxing and observing things going on around me, and of course getting lots of face rubs and baby talk. Because of my easgoing nature I'd probably make a great "starter" cat, but I know I'll be happy and content just about anywhere!
